Islamabad: India cannot unilaterally suspend the Indus Waters Treaty, nor can it be allowed to hold Pakistan’s 240 million people hostage, DPM Ishaq Dar

Addressing to the 52nd anniversary of the establishment of the ISSI, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said that ISSI helped formulate foreign policy and achieve goals, ISSI played a vital role in policy making and diplomacy, a polar world is over.

Ishaq Dar strongly dismissed the allegations of aggression against Pakistan under the guise of False Flag Operations by India, saying that Pakistan had given an immediate and effective response to Indian aggression.

He made it clear that India could not unilaterally suspend the Indus Treaty Treaty, nor could the 24 million people of Pakistan be allowed to take hostage.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that Pakistan believes in peaceful coexistence and resolving the Kashmir issue in accordance with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the people of Kashmir is inevitable. Without the solution of Kashmir, sustainable peace is not possible in the region.

Dar further said that, the world is currently undergoing major changes and Pakistan is playing a positive role as a responsible world member.

In the meantime, he reaffirmed his commitment to protect the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and strongly condemned the Israeli aggression against Iran and announced his strong support for Iran’s right to defense.

Talking about the situation of Middle East, the international community to take immediate and effective measures to stop Israeli atrocities in Gaza, as peace in the Middle East cannot be achieved until justice is served for the Palestinians.
