
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian arrives in Islamabad
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has arrived in Islamabad from Lahore, where he was received by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Dr. Pezeshkian is accompanied by Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, senior ministers, and other high-ranking officials.
During his stay, President Pezeshkian will meet with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. The visit will also include high-level delegation meetings between Pakistan and Iran.
This is Dr. Pezeshkian’s first official visit to Pakistan as President of Iran.
The visit is expected to further strengthen the brotherly relations between Pakistan and Iran.
Before this, Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian visited the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal and departed for Islamabad.
Earlier, upon his arrival at Lahore Airport, he was warmly received by PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. Federal Minister Riaz Hussain Pirzada and Punjab’s Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb also welcomed the Iranian President.
President Masoud Pezeshkian, accompanied by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, visited the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal. The Iranian delegation was warmly welcomed upon their arrival at Hazuri Bagh.
Key roads from Lahore Airport to the mausoleum were decorated with welcome banners. Upon reaching the site, the Punjab Rangers presented a guard of honor. The guest President entered the mausoleum accompanied by the Punjab Rangers and laid floral wreaths.
President Masoud Pezeshkian paid tribute to the Poet of the East. Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad offered prayers and recited Fateha at the mausoleum. The Iranian President also wrote his remarks in the guestbook.
After his stay in Lahore, he is traveling to Islamabad today, where he is scheduled to meet President Asif Ali Zardari and hold delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
This is Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian’s first official visit to Pakistan as President of Iran, taking place on the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. It is worth mentioning that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited Iran on May 27, 2025.
According to officials, this visit by the Iranian President is expected to be a significant milestone in further strengthening the brotherly relations between Pakistan and Iran.
