Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that Pakistan desires a relationship with Bangladesh that unites both nations. He expressed readiness to work not only with Bangladesh but with all South Asian countries to promote development, peace, and stability in the region.

Speaking at a reception hosted by the Pakistani High Commission in Dhaka, Dar noted that the world is undergoing major changes and highlighted the pressing issues of peace and security, climate change, and economic inequality. He emphasized the need to create an environment where youth from Karachi to Chittagong and Peshawar to Sylhet can jointly tackle shared challenges.

Dar welcomed the positive shift in Pakistan-Bangladesh relations over the past year, pointing to renewed bilateral visits, agreements, and growth in economic, educational, and cultural cooperation. He also noted that both countries share similar positions on many international issues.

Praising Bangladesh’s role in supporting SAARC, Dar expressed hope that the regional cooperation platform would be reactivated to bridge gaps among member states. He extended an invitation to Bangladeshi officials to visit Pakistan.
