Defence Experts Warn Afghanistan, ‘We will destroy Taliban posts if attacks continue’
Pakistan’s defence experts on Sunday issued a hard warning to Afghanistan, saying Islamabad will act if militants attack inside Pakistan. They said Pakistan may expel Afghan refugees from some areas and warned that Afghanistan could send them to third countries.
Officials and analysts blamed Taliban-held posts across the border for helping armed groups that stage attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. They said Pakistan would destroy any Taliban bases that serve as launch points for attacks on Pakistani soil.
The warnings come after a string of explosions and heavy clashes along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border this week. Both sides have reported losses and closed some crossing points amid rising tensions.
Humanitarian groups have urged care, saying mass expulsions would hurt people who fled war and need help. Observers warn that military action or forced returns could raise the risk of more violence in the region.
