On the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Green Electric Bus Service has been launched in Muzaffargarh to give residents a safe and environment-friendly way to travel.
The service was inaugurated by Provincial Transport Minister Bilal Akbar Khan and Parliamentary Secretary for Higher Education Sardar Ajmal Khan Chandia during a ceremony at the Muzaffargarh Sports Ground.
In the first stage, 12 electric buses will run on four routes across the city, with a fare of Rs. 20. Students, senior citizens, and people with disabilities will be able to travel for free. Officials said the air-conditioned buses have CCTV cameras and mobile charging ports to ensure passenger safety and comfort.
The service will later be expanded to nearby areas to encourage green travel and reduce pollution. This project is part of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s plan to improve Punjab’s public transport system, making it modern, affordable, and environmentally friendly.
