ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari on Eid ul Adha extended heartfelt greetings to the nation and the broader Muslim Ummah, underscoring the enduring values of faith, sacrifice, compassion and collective responsibility amid evolving regional challenges and global uncertainty.
In a message issued on the occasion of Eid ul Adha, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the sacred festival serves as a profound reminder of the unwavering faith, obedience and selflessness demonstrated by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismail (AS), whose sacrifices continue to inspire generations of Muslims across the world.
The prime minister said Eid ul Adha embodies the universal principles of compassion, generosity and devotion, urging citizens to embrace the true spirit of the occasion by extending support to vulnerable and underprivileged segments of society.
He stressed the importance of ensuring that the blessings and joy of Eid are shared with those facing hardship, calling upon the nation to strengthen the values of unity, brotherhood, social cohesion and service to humanity.
“At a time when the Muslim world faces numerous challenges, it is imperative that we reinforce the spirit of solidarity and collective responsibility,” the prime minister said, while expressing hope for peace, stability and prosperity in Pakistan and beyond.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with oppressed Muslims, particularly in Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, and prayed for justice, peace and relief for those enduring conflict and suffering.
Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari, in his Eid message, said the occasion serves as a powerful reminder of obedience to Allah Almighty, patience, sincerity and sacrifice, adding that the essence of Eid ul Adha extends far beyond ritual observance and reflects a deeper commitment to empathy, humility and social responsibility.
He emphasised that true success should not be measured by material wealth or authority, but by righteousness, public service and compassion toward fellow human beings.
Quoting the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), President Zardari highlighted the importance of serving humanity, stating that the most beloved individuals in the sight of Allah are those who bring the greatest benefit to others.
He further recalled the prophetic teaching that a believer’s faith remains incomplete if they sleep with a full stomach while their neighbour goes hungry, underscoring the importance of caring for the less privileged.
The president said the spirit of sacrifice remains incomplete without remembering orphans, widows, labourers, persons with disabilities and economically disadvantaged communities, urging citizens to ensure inclusivity and compassion during the Eid celebrations.
