Five workers gunned down in Balochistan’s Washuk

Officials said the bodies will be sent to the victims' hometowns in Punjab.

Five laborers from Punjab were shot dead by India-backed terrorists in Mashkail, a town in Balochistan’s Washuk district, on Sunday, according to Deputy Commissioner Abdul Majeed Sarparah.

The attack took place as Operation Shaban and other counterterrorism operations continue across the province, during which security forces have killed 109 terrorists since July 5.

The sources said that the incident occurred near the Pakistan-Iran border when armed men riding motorcycles opened fire on shops where the workers from Punjab were employed.

Police said all five workers suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene. The attackers fled the area after carrying out the shooting.

Police and other security personnel reached the site shortly after receiving information about the attack and shifted the bodies to a government health facility in Mashkail.

Officials said the bodies will be sent to the victims’ hometowns in Punjab after the required legal formalities are completed.

Meanwhile, security forces and law enforcement agencies have launched a search operation in the area to track down those responsible for the attack.
