More widespread monsoon rains and gusty winds, with some heavy showers in a few places, are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and parts of Pakistan on Tuesday evening or night, Wednesday, and Thursday.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department says that monsoon currents are reaching most areas of the country and a westerly wave is also affecting central and southern parts. Because of this, more rains and winds are likely in the twin cities, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and northeast and south Balochistan during these days, with breaks in between.
Heavy rains are also expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Kashmir, northeast Punjab, and northeast and south Balochistan in some areas.
These heavy rains could cause flash floods in local streams and nullahs in places like Murree, Galiyat, Manshera, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Buner, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan, northeast Punjab, Kashmir, and Balochistan. There is also a chance of urban flooding in low-lying parts of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Nowshera, and Peshawar.
Islamabad’s maximum temperature is expected to be between 34°C and 36°C on Wednesday and between 35°C and 37°C on Thursday. Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature is expected to be between 32°C and 34°C on Wednesday and between 33°C and 35°C on Thursday.
In the past 24 hours, rains and winds with some heavy showers have already occurred in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Punjab, northeast and southwest Balochistan, and Sindh.

Nokkundi remained the hottest place in Pakistan, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 46°C. The maximum temperature in Chilas was recorded at 45°C, in Dalbandin at 44°C, in Bunji at 43°C, and in Gilgit, Jacobabad, Khairpur, Okara, and Noorpur Thal at 41°C.
In Islamabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 85 percent.
In Rawalpindi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 34°C. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 78 percent.
