A suicide bombing near Kabal Police Station in Swat killed seven people and injured 18 others on Sunday, according to police and local officials.
Malakand Deputy Inspector General Syed Fida Hussain told that the suicide bomber tried to enter Kabal Police Station but was stopped by officers on duty. He said the attacker then detonated explosives near the station’s main gate.
Assistant Commissioner Kabal confirmed that the blast killed seven people and injured 18 others.
Swat District Police Officer Muhammad Omar said the explosion occurred near Kabal Chowk.
He added that investigators recovered a human head from the scene, which they believe belonged to the suspected suicide bomber.
Hussain also said a protest by local youths was underway near the area when the explosion occurred.
