ISLAMABAD: A case has been registered against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for vandalism during protest against the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) verdict pronouncing disqualification of Imran Khan.

It is pertinent to mention here that ECP disqualified Imran Khan in the Toshakhana reference on Friday and his parliamentarian ship was also quashed.

Following the decision, protests in all major cities of Pakistan erupted.

The case has been registered against the vandalism by PTI in Faizabad in I-9 police station under terrorism act and Senator Faisal Javaid along with seven others are nominated.

In the case, 9 provisions including terrorism act, attempted murder, resisting the police, sedition have been added.

The FIR said that the demonstrators tried to run over policemen with the intention of hurting them adding that the protesters set fire to trees in Faizabad and its nearby areas and damaged government property.

On the other hand, PTI leaders expressed rage over the disqualification of the party Chairman and announced to approach high court against the verdict.

PTI legal team was of the opinion that ECP is an institution not court and has no jurisdiction over disqualification of a parliamentarian.

Meanwhile, Chairman Imran Khan in a video message last night urged the nation to maintain peace and to end the protest adding that he will give call for the long march very soon.
