Following Queen Elizabeth’s death, King Charles’s red and swollen fingers cause much worry. This disturbing glimpse into Prince Charles’ health was provided by a prominent lecturer at the University of Chester.

He began by telling the Daily Star that, while “loads of conditions” could be causing King Charles’ swollen fingers, there are “many more” that have yet to be mentioned.

Dr. Nye was quoted in the journal as saying, “Oedema is a disorder in which the body begins to hold fluids in the limbs, generally the legs and ankles, but also in the fingers, causing them to swell.”

“Oedema is a prevalent illness that primarily affects persons over the age of 65 because fluid management is impaired.”

“To see if this is the reason, push the swollen area for around 15 seconds and look for a depression.”

“Arthritis is another common illness in those over the age of 60. It frequently affects three major locations of the hand: the thumb joint, any joint in the fingers, or both.”

“Fingers typically become stiff, painful, and swollen, and while medication might alleviate the pain, the edoema can persist.”

“Uncommon causes may include a high salt diet, which promotes fluid retention, and some drugs, such as blood pressure or steroid medications, which can rarely produce edoema as a side effect.”

Before concluding, he added, “There aren’t any immediate health concerns to be drawn from swelling fingers, which are most likely a symptom of his age.”
