Prince Harry issued Veterans Day statement to overshadow royals
Fans are paying tribute to Prince Harry, who spent 10 years in the Army and did two tours in Afghanistan as a working royal during wartime.
Harry looks very young and full of energy in the pictures of him in his military uniform, which may have been taken while he was on his tour in Afghanistan. Fans are giving the pictures a huge round of applause.
Over the years, Meghan has also shown support for the Armed Forces. She went on the United Service Organizations, Inc. (USO) tour in 2014, when she was working as an actress on the show Suits. This tour brings entertainment to service members and their families.
Meghan is said to have visited troops in Spain, Italy, Turkey, Afghanistan, and the United Kingdom.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared a message on the website of their group, Archewell, to honour Veterans Day and Remembrance Day.
The simple title of Harry and Meghan’s post, “Remembrance Day,” read: “On this Veterans Day and Remembrance Day, we honour servicemembers across the world.”
“These brave men and women, as well as their families, have made tremendous sacrifices and embody duty and service.” We are proud to work with so many organisations that support veterans and military families, including: The Invictus Games Foundation, The Mission Continues, Team Rubicon, Scotty’s Little Soldiers, and The Greatest Generations Foundation. “Today and every day, thank you for your service.”
Remembrance Day is a memorial day that has been held in Commonwealth countries since the end of the First World War. It is a day to remember those in the armed forces who died while doing their jobs. Many non-Commonwealth countries also remember the war on this day, which began as a tradition with King George V in 1919.
Veterans Day is a federal holiday in the United States. It is celebrated every year on November 11 to honour people who have served in the military.
