A royal fan was moved to tears of joy as Prince William and Kate posed with him for a selfie. Yesterday, the Prince and Princess of Wales paid a visit to the seaside community of Scarborough and welcomed fans on foot.

A jubilant audience greeted the newlyweds as they arrived at The Street, a community centre that helps nearby organisations expand and improve their offerings.

They snapped selfies with fans throughout the day, and those fans shared the photos on social media.

Jamie Winspear, a royal enthusiast, shared images of himself with Kate and William on Instagram and wrote that he was “excited” to have met them and was “crying happiness.”

“Oh my goodness, lost for words, shaking, crying happiness, love it got photo with royal family, beautiful,” he wrote as the caption for the picture.

Stephanie Garnett, a different royal enthusiast, tweeted a selfie with Prince William along with the words “Omg” and an emoji of a horrified expression.

Beatrice Baldwin shared pictures of herself with the Prince and Princess of Wales grinning at the camera.

The Prince and Princess made the visit as they this week announced new charitable partnerships across the nation to support regional organisations working with their Royal Foundation.

On Thursday, William and Kate made the trip to North Yorkshire to inaugurate their first “Community Impact Day,” which aims to leave a “lasting legacy and impact” on each engagement.

The couple met with young people to introduce their pilot programme, which has helped earn £350,000 for charitable causes.
