A police officer said that the online threats against Meghan Markle are “absolutely” real and that a team is looking into them.
Neil Basu, an assistant commissioner at the Metropolitan Police, says that the bad things said about the Duchess of Sussex are threats.
He also said that the people had been charged because of these comments.
“If you’d seen what was written and were receiving it… the kind of rhetoric that’s online, if you don’t know what I know, you’d feel threatened all the time,” Mr. Basu told the media.
The officer went on to say, “We had teams of people investigating it.”
Mr. Basu also said that these threats have been made against Meghan more than once. “Absolutely. We had teams investigating it. People have been prosecuted for those threats.
