Prince Harry says no to ‘name and shame’ strategy

Some members of the royal family, according to Prince Harry, argued that Meghan Markle should not have security because they believed their own brides did not receive any.

In the second part of his Netflix documentary, the Duke of Sussex made this assertion. He omitted mentioning any of the royal family.

The Duke stated, “Direction from the Palace was don’t say anything,” in reference to media reports about Meghan.

When asked about the Palace’s directives on media reporting, Meghan responded, “No comment. Everyone just says no comment.”

Harry said, “But what people need to understand is as far as a lot of family were concerned, everything she was being put through they’d been put though as well. So it was like a rite of passage.”

Some of the family members, he continued, were like, ‘My wife had to go through that. So why should your girlfriend be treated any differently. Why should you get special treatment. Why should she be protected.’ And I said, ‘the difference here is the race element’.”
