Meghan Markle, Harry’s docuseries failed to achieve target
The second piece of media that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released through their collaboration with Netflix on content development did not have the expected impact.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have so far been unable to elicit from “Live to Lead” the same amount of public attention or response as they did with their earlier released docuseries.
Harry and Meghan starred in the seven episodes, which were made available worldwide on December 31. The couple vowed to highlight the “fundamental values, daily disciplines and guiding principles that leaders employ to motivate others and create meaningful change.”
Data released by Netflix a few days after the show’s debut reveals that neither the global top 10 chart nor the U.S. or U.K. regional charts featured the show. Nevertheless, the Harry & Meghan docuseries was in sixth place and has been in the global chart for four weeks in a row.
Although the show hasn’t achieved the same level of chart success or received the same amount of media attention as that series, it seems to have had an impact on some users of social media who have expressed support for its message. One user wrote: “January can be a tough month as far as motivation goes. I can vouch for #LiveToLead as the remedy.”
A second person said: “We all need stories that remind us it’s possible to make a difference and that effective leadership looks very different from the image we’ve been sold for centuries.”
