Prince Andrew looking to overturn settlement with Virginia Giuffre
Prince Andrew, King Charles’ younger brother, would face a “terrible criminal risk” if he chose to lie in a deposition, according to Virginia Giuffre‘s lawyer, David Boies.
The Duke of York, who signed an out-of-court settlement with Virginia Giuffre in February of last year, appears to have been cautioned by his accuser’s lawyer, David Boies, amid allegations that he is consulting his legal team to reverse the accord.
During an appearance on TalkTV’s Piers Morgan Uncensored on February 21, Giuffre’s barrister Boies stated that the Duke of York “could not say he never met” his accuser during a trial.
The evidence in his client’s legal complaint against the monarch was “too strong,” according to Boies. King Charles III’s brother, on the other hand, has always strenuously denied any misconduct involving his accuser.
Boies also told Morgan that the Queen’s second son would incur a “huge criminal risk” if he chose to lie in a deposition.
He went on to say that the image allegedly shows the disgraced prince with an arm wrapped around Giuffre’s – then Miss Roberts’ – waste, the lawyer stated.
“If you lie to an interviewer you may embarrass yourself — if you lie in a deposition you can go to jail. This was a case where I think the evidence was too strong,” said the lawyer.
He continued: “Once the jury concludes that he’s not credible with his claims that he never met her, I think the jury would probably conclude that he’s not credible about claiming he didn’t have sex with her. He would have been taking a terrible criminal risk.”
In the summer of 2021, Giuffre filed a civil action against the king, accusing him of having sex with her while she was 17 and being trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein.

Subsequently, Andrew and Giuffre struck an out-of-court settlement, which did not constitute an acknowledgment of culpability on the part of the Duke of York.
Exactly one year after this deal, a source said on Sunday last month the Prince “wants to see what legal routes might be available to him” to reverse the settlement he reached with Ms Giuffre and was investigating “his legal options”.
