Fawad Khan discusses the popularity of Pakistani dramas in India

Fawad Khan, a global star with a huge fan following in both India and Pakistan, gained fame in India through his dramas. He later found success in Bollywood. However, as political tensions intensified, he had to leave India. Since then, Fawad Khan has been working sporadically. He is now gearing up for an Indian-Pakistani collaboration titled “Barzakh.”

In an interview with Pinkvilla India, Fawad Khan discussed the popularity of Pakistani dramas in India. When asked why Pakistani dramas resonate so strongly with Indian audiences compared to Indian dramas, he shared his insights on the subject.

Fawad said that “like India has command over films, Pakistanis are masters in dramas as drama has always been the medium that we have used to tell stories. The actor said that Indian dramas are more like soap operas and therefore have lost the command of storytelling that they had early on.”
