Resham Opens up About People Criticize Her Work

Senior Pakistani actress Resham recently expressed her frustration over receiving criticism for her charitable actions, despite her good intentions.

In a viral social media video, Resham is seen preparing food for charity. She explains that she has been personally cooking and distributing charity meals for the past 20 years, and continuously for the last six years, throughout all 12 months.

Resham noted that while she used to manage one large pot of food and bread for 50,000 rupees, the cost has now risen to 150,000 rupees, and the quantity of food she distributes has tripled.

Resham shared that she left her work in showbiz and films 15 years ago. She now occasionally does modeling and participates in some shows, and the income from these activities supports her charity work. She emphasized her commitment to her cause, stating, “I have made a promise to Allah that as long as I am alive, I will continue to distribute charity food.”

Despite her dedication, Resham mentioned that people criticize her work and suggest she should provide employment instead. She remarked, “Who am I to feed people; it is God who feeds them.”

She added that she owns only one house in the world, and if she sold it to provide employment to others, she would end up living in a slum herself.

Resham concluded by stating that she does this work solely for the pleasure of Allah. She also addressed accusations regarding the source of her charity funds, saying, “People accuse me of making the charity food with ill-gotten money, but I believe that it is up to Allah to decide,”
