Mariyam Nafees criticizes Pakistani nation as ‘Corrupt and Lazy’

Mariyam Nafees, a brilliant Pakistani model, actress, host, and social activist, is renowned for her strong opinions and popular television roles. Her notable appearances include “Diyar-e-Dil”, “Yaqeen Ka Safar”, “Ishq Jalebi”, “Kam Zarf”, “Mohabbat Chor Di Maine”, “Neem”, and “Jaan-e-Jahan”. Mariyam Nafees also enjoys a strong social media following. She married Amaan Ahmed in March 2022.

Mariyam Nafees recently appeared on FHM’s podcast, hosted by Adnan Faisal, where she expressed her views on the Pakistani nation. She described Pakistanis as morally corrupt and lazy.

Talking about it, Mariyam Nafees said, “The majority of this nation is corrupt, untruthful, lazy and laid back. We are corrupt, nothing happens here on merit. What happens here on foreign and local levels is ridiculous, inflation, political instability, and domestic issues are not the only issues here, there are more concerning and serious issues like kidnapping, harassment, assaults, and killings. Do you know schooling of children has become a task in Pakistan, there are no health care facilities, we lack basic education and health facilities. I am not happy with the system in Karachi, do you know Karachi has become the second most dangerous city in the world? I wouldn’t say I like Karachi and its system, I have issues with roads, weather and plantation. Yes, the people here are good but nobody is ready to take ownership”. She further said that she feels unsafe in Pakistan because men have created an unsafe environment for women in Pakistan.
