Faiq Khan, a renowned Pakistani actor celebrated for his roles in hit dramas like Bebak and Meesni, has recently shed light on the challenges he faces within the entertainment industry.

Known for his exceptional acting skills, Khan has starred in popular shows such as Deewar E Shab, Tum Ho Jeene Ki Wajah, Raja Indar, Meri Guriya, and Muhabbat Humsafar Meri. Currently, he is captivating audiences with his performance in the drama Jaan SE Pyara Juni.

In an interview on a morning show, Khan spoke openly about the internal politics and discrimination he has encountered in the industry.

He revealed that industry politics and group dynamics have led to his talents being underutilized, contributing to a sense of being underrated. Despite his notable contributions to television, Khan feels that these challenges have impacted his career progression.

Khan, who is married and a father of two, usually maintains a low profile but chose this platform to address these pressing issues affecting his career.

Talking about it, Faiq Khan said, “I am thinking of leaving this industry. I might leave the showbiz world and am considering switching my career. I have set a benchmark for myself, and if I don’t achieve it, I will leave. Although I don’t know what life has to offer me, I am done for now because the industry has kept me underrated. I don’t know what they wanted to see in me—branded clothes or stature. They have never asked me about the kind of work I can do. The industry is least concerned about you unless you belong to a certain class. These are not channels; they are tribes that don’t give you work if you don’t belong to their tribe. I have only been supported by Shamoon Abbasi, Mohsin Talat, and one channel. I can only speak highly of them; otherwise, this industry is ruthless”.

Faiq Khan and Adnan Shah Tipu have criticized the Pakistani entertainment industry for its reliance on networking and group dynamics. They highlighted that the industry often prioritizes marketability over genuine talent. According to them, actors who possess a certain image, status, or strong public relations are favored, while true talent is sometimes overlooked.

Both actors observed that mediocrity is frequently celebrated, with lesser-skilled performers being elevated to star status. They also noted a trend of pairing actors on-screen despite noticeable age differences, reflecting a commercial focus rather than artistic merit.
