Hareem Farooq defends her recent character Masooma: ‘she’s innocent, not negative’
Hareem Farooq is captivating audiences as Masooma in the drama “Bismil”. While fans strongly dislike her character, Masooma has stirred up Reham’s life, played by Savera Nadeem. Recently, Hareem Farooq, Saad Qureshi, and Savera Nadeem appeared on “Fuchsia”, where they discussed the psychology behind their characters in “Bismil”.
Hareem described Masooma as a character who isn’t inherently bad but is true to herself. She explained that Masooma reflects desires we all carry within us; it’s up to each of us how we choose to fulfill those desires. “We all have a Masooma inside us,” she remarked.
She also revealed that “she used to get only good girl roles and she jumped on Bismil when she was offered this. She loved doing it and many people on the set used to say that would you walk out of it? This is a very negative character and you are going to get a lot of hate. Hareem is though all for acting and she loved performing a different character.”
