Mawra Hocane opens up about falling in love with Ameer Gilani

Pakistani television and film star Mawra Hocane recently made headlines by marrying actor Ameer Gilani. Known for their on-screen chemistry in “Sabaat” and “Neem”, the duo transformed their reel-life connection into a real-life love story. They exchanged vows in a private “nikah” ceremony in February, attended only by close family and friends. Currently, Mawra is once again starring alongside Ameer Gilani in the drama “Agar Tum Sath Ho”.

Recently, Mawra Hocane appeared on “Something Haute’s” discussion show, hosted by Amina Haider Isani. She revealed that she fell in love with Ameer Gilani and shared that he proposed to her through his mother.

Talking about realizing her love for Ameer Gilani, Marwa Hocane said, “I knew Ameer through my law school. I had multiple interactions with him but the interaction I remembered was borrowing money from him for a water bottle before the exam which Ameer forgot. When I met with him on the set of Sabat, he was praying in the corner, and I felt the light— he had a positive energy. Of course, I didn’t think of marrying him at that time but within a few days, I was sure that either I wanted him or someone with qualities like his. I found peace in Ameer; he radiated positivity. Also, I wanted to build a family with someone who is kind, has good manners, and comes from a respectable background. He is wise, calm, and positive—everything just added up. I could see the calm in his personality. I closely observed Ameer Gilani while we were shooting in Kashmir for Sabaat. At that time, I didn’t even post anything on social media”.

While discussing Ameer’s proposal, Mawra Hocane said, “Ameer and I were great friends. He never hinted at anything about marriage or he never expressed his feelings to me, but his mother told me, ‘Listen, I know Ameer. He likes you, and he will marry you.’ She was the one who brought the proposal to my home, and the way she asked for my hand from my parents was so respectful that it made all of us teary-eyed. It was so special.”
