Government has decided to dissolve the Pakistan sports board (PSB).

According to the details, the Pakistan Sports Board is the only organization for the development and promotion of sports in the country. The Prime Minister’s Task Force for Sports recommends to make the Pakistan Sports Board private.

According to sources, the Prime Minister House has decided to dissolve the Pakistan Sports Board.

In this regard, the task of privatizing PSBs was entrusted to Amina Imran, who has recently been appointed acting Director General Sports Board.

A letter has been received to PSB employees from the Prime Minister House. Upon receiving the letter, a meeting of the All Pakistan Sports Board Employees Union has been convened.

The meeting was chaired by President All Pakistan Sports Board Employees Union Ghulam Taqi Khan Bosan.

He rejected the orders of PSBs privatization and said instead of rectifying the problems government is declaring the patient as dead.

The President further said that the safety of the employees is our top priority. If the future of hundreds of employees is at stake, he will not hesitate to make any sacrifice.

He added that the country is in serious danger and the government is doing experiments.

Pakistan Sports Board(PSB) established under the Ministry of Education through the Sports (Development and Control) Ordinance, 1962 as a corporate body for the purposes of promoting and developing uniform standards of competition in sports in Pakistan comparable to the standards prevailing internationally, and regulating and controlling sports in Pakistan on a national basis.

In July, 1977 with the creation of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the administrative control of the Pakistan Sports Board was transferred to it.

2011, the administrative control of the Pakistan Sports Board has transferred to Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination after the devolution of the Ministry of Sports in June.
