The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to appoint Babar Azam as the new Test Captain and removed Azhar Ali from the post.

According to sources, Babar Azam will be the new Test captain on the New Zealand tour. PCB will make the official announcement on November 11, the sources revealed.

On the other hand, Mohammad Rizwan, wicketkeeper-batsman, will also be appointed as the vice-captain of the team. The squads for New Zealand will also be named on the same date.

The sources further revealed that a 35-member squad is likely to be announced.

It should be mentioned here that from December 18 to January 7, Pakistan will play three T20Is and two Tests.

The squad will leave for New Zealand on November 23 from Lahore and will undergo a 14-day quarantine period in Lincoln, Christchurch, as per New Zealand government regulations.
