Polish Tennis Player Iga Swiatek Wins Italian Open.
Iga Swiatek defeated the ninth Czech seed Karolina Pliskova 6-0 6-0 to win the Italian Open.
The 19-year-old champion of the French Open took only 45 minutes to send the 2019 winner. Pliskova, former world number one, lost two consecutive finals in Rome after losing to Simona Halep last year.
“I’m excited, at the start of this tournament I wouldn’t have dreamed of winning it,” said Swiatek, the 15th seed.

Swiatek swept the first set in just 20 minutes, with Pliskova winning just four points. Pliskova, 29, tried a rematch in the third game of the second set, taking a double break to make it 2-1, but Swiatek undoubtedly cancelled out any return.
“I will quickly forget today,” said Pliskova, who played her third consecutive final in Rome.
“I’ve played some great games here, I’ve done well in the past.”
