The Australian cricket team suffered a huge blow ahead of the first ODI against Pakistan as all-rounder Mitchell Marsh and wicketkeeper-batsman Josh Inglis were ruled out of the squad.
Marsh will not be available for the first ODI amid a hip flexor injury, Cricket Australia stated. He sustained the injury during a training session yesterday.
“Scans confirmed the injury was a low-grade hip flexor strain,” the statement confirmed, adding that Marsh will be managed clinically with a view to potentially returning to play later in the series.
On the other hand, Inglis was tested positive for Covid-19 this morning. he will enter the quarantine for five days and will join the squad for the third ODI on April 2.
The first ODI is scheduled to start at 03:00 pm at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
It is to be noted that Australia won the historic three-match Test series against Pakistan 1-0.
