Former English cricketer Rob Keys says that Pakistan still plays a “slightly old-fashioned” game and lacks the courage against Australia.
Australia triumphed in the historic Test series against Pakistan by 1-0, and it was followed by an 88-run win in the first ODI.
When Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq teamed up and cycled strikes with strange limits here and there, Pakistan’s ship stabilized. The collapse, on the other hand, began after Babar’s dismissal.
Imam-ul-Haq eventually achieved another personal milestone, but it was in vain because Pakistan had already appeared to have lost the match.
Rob Key, speaking about Pakistan’s performance, stated that the batters in Pakistan are also lacking in courage.
“The score Pakistan were chasing was gettable with the class of players like Babar Azam. They just need to have a little more courage and a little less fear of failure. They still play slightly old-fashioned cricket. You have to make more of the Powerplay,” he stated.
Pakistan and Australia will lock horns in the second ODI today at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore at 03:00 pm.
