DUBAI: Pakistani bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has been ranked 10th in the current ICC T20I Player Rankings following a brilliant performance in the one-off T20I in Lahore during the Pakistan-Australia series.
Afridi moved up four ranks following his 2/21 against Australia.
Australia’s Josh Hazlewood slid to third, while England’s Adil Rashid moved up to second. Tabraiz Shamsi of South Africa leads.
Mohammad Rizwan, the ICC Men’s T20I Player of the Year 2021, slid to third place, while Babar Azam remained the top batter.
Babar smashed 66 off 46 balls, six fours, and two sixes, while Rizwan hit 23 off 19 balls, four fours, and two sixes. Pakistan lost by 3 wickets.
Aiden Markram of South Africa is ranked 2nd.
After the South Africa-Bangladesh series, there was some change in the Test player rankings.
Keshav Maharaj, who shone with both bat and ball in the last game, rose to 21st in the bowlers’ rankings and 13th in all-rounders.
Simon Harmer, a spinner, climbed 26 places to 54th. With 13 wickets, he was second only behind Maharaj in the series (16).
