Shahid Aslam’s hard work with national team players is praised by Sarfaraz Ahmed

Shahid Aslam, the national team’s assistant coach, has been praised by former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed for his outstanding work with the players behind the scenes.

In the recently finished ODI series, the Babar Azam-led team defeated Australia 2-1, their first win in the format against the Aussies since 2022.

Pakistani bowlers controlled the proceedings after sending Australia in to bat, restricting the visitors to a meagre 210 runs. Babar Azam and the in-form Imam-ul-Haq made easy work of the chase and won the game with 73 balls to spare in pursuit of the low-scoring score.

Ahmed thanked Pakistan’s assistant coach Shahid Aslam for his contributions on Twitter, saying that he “is really working hard with the boys!”

Aslam is widely considered as one of Pakistan’s best coaches, and he was essential in Mohammad Rizwan’s success as a T20 opener.

Sarfaraz Ahmed was left out of Pakistan’s ODI team as well as the impending one-off T20I fixture on April 5.
