
Bangladeshi skipper Mominul Haque confirmed on Thursday 7TH of April that Tamim Iqbal is now fit and will return for the final of the two-Test series in Port Elizabeth against South Africa.
Tamim, did not returned to ground since playing his last game against Sri Lanka in April 2021 at the Pallekele after his injury. He was expected to appear in the series opener in Durban, but was declared unfit with a stomach problem.
Mominul Haque said that, “Tamim Bhai’s condition is much better now and we are hopeful he will play the next game,”
Bangladeshi player Mominul Haque seemed confident and promised of doing well in the series ahead. “Certainly we will play for a win and will try to play good cricket for 12 to 13 sessions without paying any attention to all the noise around,” said Mominul Haque. “We don’t want to think too much about what happened in the opening game.
“We are yet to decide whether we will play a seamer or a spinner in place of Taskin,” he said, who was ruled out with a shoulder injury. “Certainly we will miss Taskin considering he is performing since returning to Test cricket. At the same time it is a big opportunity for the cricketer who will replace him in the playing XI,” he added.
