Watch: Naseem Shah pleased to join selection in Gloucestershire County Cricket Club

Naseem Shah of Pakistan says he is pleased to join Gloucestershire County Cricket Club and is looking forward to playing for the team.

Naseem will be available for the first half of the Championship season as well as the Vitality T20 Blast group rounds.

If he is called up for the West Indies One-Day International series, which begins in early June, he might return sooner.

“First of all I am very excited, when I landed here in Bristol, it’s a beautiful city and a beautiful environment. I am very excited to play for this club and very much looking forward to play for them,” he said in a video posted on Gloucestershire’s Twitter account.

“Before I came here, Zafar talked to me about the guys and the team. So I met all the guys and everyone was so nice and enjoyed a lot here. And just coming from 38 degrees to -1, I have enjoyed that a lot [laughs].

“This is my first time of playing in County Cricket, my senior players talk highly about the County cricket. I’m looking forward and hope that I bowl well here.”

Naseem Shah has played 11 Tests for Pakistan thus far, but has yet to make his debut in the other two forms.
