NZC pays compensation to PCB for suddenly canceling tour last year

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been compensated by New Zealand Cricket (NZC) for suddenly canceling the tour last year in September 2021.

The compensation sum has not been announced, but reports claim the PCB will profit handsomely from New Zealand’s upcoming visit to Pakistan, which will include 10 white-ball games.

Meanwhile, the two boards’ relationships have normalized, with PCB deciding to accept the offer to play in the tri-nation series in Christchurch in October, just before the T20 World Cup in Australia.

After deciding on dates with England, the PCB will finalize the tour to New Zealand, as they are slated to travel to Pakistan for seven T20Is in October.

England also decided not to send men’s and women’s teams to Pakistan. PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja indicated that they would seek compensation from New Zealand.

New Zealand has now paid compensation for financial losses, including hotel bookings, security, marketing, and broadcast, among other things.

New Zealand will tour Pakistan for three ODIs and two Tests in December 2022/January 2023, and will make up for the canceled tour in April 2023 with five T20Is and as many ODIs.
