Players at the 2022 PGA Championship will have a lot to think about, with tricky greens, long rough, and changeable conditions.

However, after Friday’s second round, Richard Bland found that there are many additional factors to consider, including the local fauna.

The English golfer shared a video on social media that showed a squirrel chewing on his golf ball rather than an acorn.

Bland’s ball rolls onto the green in the video, only for the squirrel to stop it and roll it around before fleeing.

Bland was also unable to move his ball or replay his shot, which made the problems worse.

According to the decisions of the US Golf Association, “There is no penalty if your ball in motion is accidentally deflected or halted, and you can generally play the ball from wherever it is. This includes when your ball hits your body or your equipment by accident.”

Bland’s week was summed up by the incident, as he finished 10-over par after the first two rounds at Southern Hills Country Club and therefore missed the cut.
