
Kevin De Bruyne was keen to remind everyone that Manchester City already has a glut of world-class stars a day after the club completed the summer signing of Erling Haaland.
De Bruyne scored a hat trick in the first half against Wolves at the Molineux Stadium, scoring in the 7th, 16th, and 24th minutes before adding a fourth on the hour mark to put Man City in command and on course for three crucial points in the Premier League championship chase.
Following Liverpool’s comeback win at Aston Villa on Monday, City and Liverpool were level on points.
City, on the other hand, had a game in hand and a goal difference advantage, and it took advantage of it on Tuesday, with the Belgian maestro on the receiving end of numerous goals in a 5–1 victory.

De Bruyne scored the first three goals with his left foot, and his celebration after the third appeared to be a tribute to Haaland, who celebrates his goals similarly.

De Bruyne also came close to scoring a fifth goal, hitting the left post with a left-footed shot in the 89th minute.
With the win, City regains a three-point lead over Liverpool in the title race with two games to go.
Following the FA Cup final against Chelsea this weekend, Liverpool returns to Premier League action on Tuesday, with Man City having the chance to go six points clear at West Ham on Sunday before Liverpool’s next league encounter.
