Two Pakistani climbers, Sarbaz Ali and Shahrooz Kashif have climbed Mount Makalu, the fifth highest peak in the world.
Shahrooz Kashif became the youngest climber to climb the world’s five highest peaks, while Sarbaz Ali became the first and only Pakistani to climb 11 peaks above 8,000 meters.
Sarbaz Ali, 33, and Shahrooz Kashif, 20, set off for Mount Macau at 8 pm on Friday and reached the top of the 8,463-meter peak at about 6 am on Saturday.
Ali Khan, a 33-year-old soldier, has climbed eleventh of 14 peaks above 8,000 meters. A few days ago, Sarbaz also topped the third highest peak in the world, Kanchenjunga. Geyserbram One, Sheesh Panmaga and Chou Awe were left to head.
He has previously climbed Mount Everest, K2, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Nanga Parbat, Annapurna, Broad Peak and Gasherbrum Two.
On the other hand, 20-year-old Shahrooz Kashif became the youngest climber to climb Mount Makalu, making him the youngest climber in the world to climb the top five highest peaks.
Shahrooz Kashif has climbed a total of seven of the 14 peaks above 8,000 meters. The young climber from Lahore is the third Pakistani to climb the highest seven peaks, followed only by Muhammad Ali Sadpara and Sarbaz Khan.
Shahrooz also climbed the third highest peak Kanchenjunga and the fourth highest peak Mount Lotse in the same month, making him the first Pakistani to climb three mountains above 8,000 in 23 days. In addition to Everest and K2, Manaslu and Broad Peak have also been climbed.
