  • Amit Mishra was arrested by Bangalore police:

Former Indian league spinner Amit Mishra was arrested by Bangalore police in 2015 on charges of assaulting a woman in a hotel room. A case was registered against Mishra under sections 325 and 354A of the Indian Penal Code, but he was released after three hours of questioning.

According to Indian media, Amit Mishra could have been sentenced to seven years in prison if convicted.

  • Suresh Raina was arrested for violating Corona norms:

Suresh Raina was partying with singer Guru Randhawa at a Mumbai club in December 2020 when coronavirus protocol was in place and Mumbai police raided the place and arrested 34 people. Raina was among them but was later released.

  • Vinod Kambli was also arrested:

Former Indian cricketer and Sachin Tendulkar’s best friend Vinod Kambli and his wife were arrested in 2015 after their maid lodged a complaint with the police alleging that the couple had abused them.

  • Navjot Singh Sadhu was arrested after a decision was taken in a long-pending case:

Congress leader Navjot Singh Sadhu was convicted on May 19, 2022, in a 34-year-old case. He was sentenced to one year in prison.

In the 1988 Road Rage case, Sadhu was initially released with a small fine but the case was reopened on the basis of a complaint lodged by the deceased’s family. In this case, the Supreme Court sentenced Sadhu to one year of rigorous imprisonment.

  • Sri Santh went to jail on spot-fixing charges:

Former Indian fast bowler Sri Santh was arrested along with other cricketers in a spot-fixing case and spent a month in Tihar Jail before being released due to lack of evidence.
