Sports World Pays Tribute to Dwayne Johnson

On Monday morning, the Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment is the focus of attention, with the sports and entertainment worlds paying tribute to him.

Today is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s birthday. The former WWE superstar has converted into a Hollywood A-lister at the age of 50.

So far, it appears that The Rock hasn’t spent much time on Twitter acknowledging all of the birthday greetings. His lone activity this morning was to respond to veteran NFL pass rusher Shawne Merriman’s birthday tweet:

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s career arc is unlike anything else in sports or entertainment history. In the early 1990s, he won a national title with the University of Miami, but he was turned down for a tryout with the Canadian Football League before turning to pro wrestling.
