In the latest episode of a fascinating rivalry, Liverpool thrashed Manchester United twice in the Premier League this season, 5-0 in October 2021 and 4-0 in April 2022.

Liverpool also defeated Manchester United in terms of trophies this season: United went trophy-less, while Liverpool won two and are still in contention for two more.

Both clubs have a long history and have won numerous league and cup titles, with Liverpool adding to their tally this season.

Liverpool defeated Barcelona 3-1 on aggregate in the 2015-16 Europa League quarterfinals. In a 2-0 triumph in the first leg at Anfield, Daniel Sturridge and Roberto Firmino scored, and Anthony Martial gave United hope in the return leg at Old Trafford, only for Philippe Coutinho to regain the lead.
