FIFA sells 1.8 million tickets for Qatar’s World Cup

• FIFA says it has sold 1.8 million tickets for this year’s World Cup in Qatar.
• Fans in the Gulf Arab state have purchased number of tickets.
• The next round of ticket deals opens on July 5.

FIFA hopes to offer a sum of 3 million match tickets during the 28-day competition, which starts off Nov. 21, a representative said.

Beside Qatar, the top nations where fans purchased tickets are Canada, England, France, Germany, India, Saudi Arabia, Spain, the United Arab Emirates and the United States, FIFA said in an official statement.
