- Notre Dame’s current sports season has been prolonged by the baseball team.
- According to Lunardi, they will get one of the final four byes in the 2023 NCAA Tournament.
Joe Lunardi was born in Philadelphia, attended Saint Joseph’s Preparatory School and Damien High School in California, and graduated from Saint Joseph’s University.
While Notre Dame’s current sports season has been prolonged by the baseball team, there is no reason not to look ahead to the next one. The men’s basketball squad is already there, since practice

There was another reason for the players and coaches to have a spring in their step, as if being back together wasn’t enough. Joe Lunardi of ESPN released his newest Bracketology earlier in the day, and it was excellent news for the Irish. According to Lunardi, they will get one of the final four byes in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, as well as moving up from their prior position. The Irish would now be the 11th seed in the West Regional and would face Michigan in the first round, which has slid from prior forecasts.
All of this is compounded by the fact that Blake Wesley is only a few days away from attaining his NBA ambitions. There’s no reason why the Irish shouldn’t be happy right now. Don’t you think so?
