John Cena is known as The Face Who Runs The Show in the WWE. He has now joined the WWE family. He is now announcing his long-awaited return to the ring.

However, Hollywood has beckoned in recent years, and the Cenation Leader has become increasingly absent.

His most recent televised match was a high-profile defeat at SummerSlam 2021 to Roman Reigns.

That defeat cost him the WWE Universal Title and the opportunity to equal Ric Flair’s official record of 16 world title victories.

Cena had been gone for over a year when he unexpectedly appeared at Money in the Bank 2021 to challenge Reigns.

As the current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, the former Shield leader and self-proclaimed Head of the Table is Cena’s de facto replacement as the company’s face.

John Cena sat out WrestleMania 37 and 38, and his day job these days is playing Christopher Smith, aka Peacemaker, in the Suicide Squad films.
But, with WWE celebrating John Cena’s 20th anniversary this month, The Time Is Now for his return, and Big Match John has announced his return.

As a result, Cena will appear on Monday Night Raw on June 27, just a few days before Money in the Bank 2022.

The popular pay-per-view event will take place on July 2, 2022, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada.

It’s unclear whether Cena’s announced return on Raw will be an in-ring return or just a talking spot, but with Cody Rhodes suffering a major injury ahead of his Hell in a Cell victory over Seth Rollins, there’s a clear opening for a new challenger to Roman Reigns.

Cena would relish the opportunity to win the Money in the Bank Ladder Match and cash in his briefcase in order to avenge his loss to Reigns last summer and finally match Flair’s illustrious record.

He told The Ellen DeGeneres Show earlier this year about his WWE future: “I’ll tell you and everyone else watching that I’m not done with WWE by any means.

“That is my home, and I adore it. I was able to return for a few months during the summer to entertain audiences as they returned to arenas.

“So this is far from my last performance.”

Do you think John Cena will compete in the WWE Money in the Bank Ladder Match in 2022?
