Rovanpera won Kenya’s Safari Rally on Sunday, with the youthful Finn driving a Toyota clear of the main four spots.

“I need to say, this was the hardest assembly I have at any point finished,” said Rovanpera, who combat through mud and heavy downpour on Saturday and took his fourth success in six rounds.

“To have four vehicles like this without any issues: it is plainly the most grounded and quickest vehicle. The group worked really hard.”

Hyundai’s Thierry Neuville, fifth in the assembly and second in the title, won the last ‘Damnation’s Gate’ Power Stage for five extra places.

Toyota are 62 focuses clear of Hyundai after six of 13 rounds.

Sunday highlighted three phases, each run two times, on the southern edge of Lake Naivasha.
