In their match against Middlesex, Dan Lawrence (51) and Tom Westley (84) combined to smash the record for most runs scored by a sixth-wicket partnership.

Michael Pepper hoisted Thilan Walallawita’s first ball into the Mound Stand, but fell trying to duplicate the effort. When Paul Walter holed out off the excellent Green, Essex were 67 for 4.
Lawrence smashed Martin Andersson before sixing Walallawita. 50 saved Westley’s life. Luke Hollman smashed Simpson, Greatwood, and Holden. In the final three overs, neither half-century scored more than 11.
Cook misjudged. Harmer recovered Rossington’s fumble and Holden intercepted Cook’s ball. Lawrence caught Simpson at second slip after Cracknell bowled thrice.

Harmer scored 50 off Davies and Eskinazi. Eskinazi smashed Cook for six over point when he returned, but he hit Aaron Beard to Cook at cover.
Middlesex lost 8 of 9 in the competition after Davies was caught in the deep in the next over.
