Before World Cup qualifying, the United States is ready for anything

• The United States beat Colombia 2-0 in their second of two friendlies on Tuesday.
• The U.S. plays Haiti in their CONCACAF W Championship group stage opener on Monday.
• The tournament aims to qualify eight teams for the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Consecutive ladies’ title holders the United States venture out toward the 2023 competition on Monday, playing Haiti in their CONCACAF W Championship bunch stage opener.

The eight-group competition in Monterrey, Mexico, will see the main four finishers meet all requirements for the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, and be the general champ for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Mexico and Jamaica are likewise highlighted in Group, time Olympic heroes Canada play Costa Rica, Panama, and Trinidad and Tobago in Group B.

The four-time World Cup victors are out for retribution after a disheartening bronze completion of final year’s Tokyo Games, with satisfaction on the line for the enduring top picks.
