Brooke Andersen kept the gold significantly farther of reach as she tossed 77.56 on her fifth attempt and let out a cry as she beat that work.

With her last toss to cheers from the home group, as comrade Janee Kassanavoid completed third.

“I’m really lucky to have the opposition I had,” said Andersen.

“Having the option to bring back this award for Canada means everything to me,” she said. “I realize this isn’t the finish of the excursion.”
