India unveils their home series schedule
India unveils their schedules for the home series ahead of ICC T20 World Cup in Australia. Between September 20 and October 11, Men in Blue will host three T20Is against the Kangaroos and three T20Is and three ODIs against South Africa. All three sides will play their last matches before the men’s T20 World Cup in Australia on October 16.
The three Twenty20 Internationals against Australia will be played on September 20, 23, and 25 in Mohali, Nagpur, and Hyderabad, in that order. The T20Is will be played between September 28 and October 3 in Thiruvananthapuram, Guwahati, and Indore, while the ODIs will be played between October 6 and 11 in Ranchi, Lucknow, and Delhi.

First-choice T20I players may travel to Australia around the time of the ODIs against Proteas, so India and South Africa may pitch second-string teams.
India has played second-string teams often in recent years, sometimes because of concurrent series in different areas of the world, and sometimes to give regular players a respite from what is becoming a jampacked calendar, cramming in bilateral series, international events, and T20 franchise leagues.
In reality, it is consistent with what BCCI secretary Jay Shah stated in June: “I have had discussions with NCA [National Cricket Academy] head VVS Laxman and we will always have 50 players in our roster. In future, you will have a scenario, where the Indian Test team will be playing a series in one country and the white-ball team will be engaged in a series in a different country. We are going in that direction where we will have two national teams ready at the same time.”
Between July 22 and August 7, the Indian white-ball team will play a series of three ODIs and five T20Is in the Caribbean. They are slated to play three ODIs in Zimbabwe between August 18 and August 22. If all goes according to plan, the Asia Cup will take place between August 27 and September 11; however, it is likely to be relocated from Sri Lanka to the United Arab Emirates due to current political difficulties on the island.
