Kyle Snyder: Rays Pitching coach Injured on Visit to Mound
Kyle Snyder harmed himself strolling toward the hill to visit expert Shane McClanahan during the seventh inning of a 9-1 misfortune.
To the Detroit Tigers on Saturday.
The 44-year-old Snyder needed to get back to the burrow, and director Kevin Cash went out to talk with McClanahan all things considered.
“He pulled a lower leg muscle — pulled it, stressed it, popped it — we haven’t gotten the last injury report yet,” Cash said. “I needed to move forward.”
McClanahan, who began the All-Star Game for the American League, permitted four runs in 6 1/3 innings, raising his ERA to 2.24.
He’s holding down a pivot that is without Tyler Glasnow, Shane Baz, Yonny Chirinos, Josh Fleming and Brendan McKay because of injury.
Snyder, a 6-foot-8 previous significant association pitcher, has been the Rays’ pitching mentor starting around 2018.
Tampa Bay dropped to 57-50 and is one game in front of Baltimore for the last AL special case.
