Atletico Madrid has made a permanent deal with Barcelona to bring Antoine Griezmann back to the team.

The French football player has signed a contract that will last until 2026. He left the club three years ago in a deal worth £103 million.

Griezmann came back to Atletico on loan from Barcelona in August 2021, and his temporary deal was extended for this season in the summer.

Over his two stints at the club, the 31-year-old has scored 144 goals and given 59 assists, making him the club’s fourth-highest scorer.

Griezmann has had trouble settling in Catalonia, but he has scored three goals and set up two others in 11 games this season.

He played 102 games for Barcelona and scored 35 goals. During his time there, he only won the Copa del Rey. Griezmann went back to Atletico Madrid at a time when Barcelona was trying to cut costs because they owed £1.15 billion.
