Alexander Pisarev, a 33-year-old MMA champion from Russia, reportedly ate a watermelon that was poisoned before he went unexpectedly. On October 30, Pisarev’s father discovered him dead at his residence in Moscow.

Alexander Pisarev died in his sleep and had no ongoing medical issues, an unknown member of Pisarev’s staff informed Tass. Food poisoning caused the fatality, according to early evidence.

According to the news source Pravda, Pisarev died after he and his wife consumed a watermelon. While Pisarev passed away, she is believed to have been hospitalised. They consumed additional items, according to the same reports.

The fighter’s father, Igor Vladimirovich, said to Pravda: “I looked into the room, and Alexander and his wife were asleep. As I drew nearer, I noticed that my son was not breathing anymore.

“There were fractures of the fingers after the last fights, but this is nothing. We all eat the same food, we live together.”

Pisarev’s family members insist that he was in good health. The featherweight fighter’s cause of death will be determined by an autopsy, and the Moscow Region Investigative Committee has confirmed that an investigation into his death has been opened.
